Strengthening the growing ties between the Arab world and Greece in the field of healthcare, the 2nd Arab-Hellenic Health Conference, held on 10–11 June 2026 at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens, concluded on a highly successful note.
The two-day gathering attracted more than 120 Arab business delegates and 90 Greek counterparts, alongside senior government officials, Arab Ambassadors, healthcare experts, and distinguished guests. Among the high-level participants were the Minister of Health of Greece, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis; the Minister of Health of Syria, Dr. Musaab Nazzal Al-Ali; the Minister of Health of Yemen, Dr. Qasem Mohammed Buhaibeh; and the Deputy Minister of Health of Libya, Dr. Saadeldine Al-Mismari, underscoring the Conference’s significance as a platform for dialogue, innovation, and cross-border collaboration.
Over the course of two dynamic days, participants engaged in insightful deliberations, interactive discussions, networking opportunities, and dedicated business meetings. The Conference featured 52 distinguished speakers, representing leading institutions and companies active in pharmaceuticals, healthcare services, hospital modernization and digital transformation, as well as the latest developments in artificial intelligence applications for diagnosis and treatment.
The sessions were marked by active audience participation and fruitful exchanges, reflecting the strong interest and commitment of all attendees to advancing cooperation in the healthcare sector. Once again, the Arab-Hellenic Chamber succeeded in raising the bar in terms of both the caliber of speakers and the level of representation. The inclusion of European experts further enriched the discussions and was warmly welcomed by participants, reinforcing the Conference’s role as a premier platform for fostering dialogue and promoting business opportunities between Greece and the Arab world.
During the opening ceremony on the first day, the Chamber paid tribute to H.E. Mr. Omar Youssef, Ambassador of Egypt, and H.E. Mr. Ali Bin Yousef, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, upon the completion of their diplomatic missions in Greece. Their valuable contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between their respective countries and Greece were highly commended.
On the second day, the Chamber took the initiative to honor a number of distinguished Arab physicians who have devoted many years of service to Greece and have made a lasting contribution to the country’s healthcare sector. Those recognized were Dr. Mazen Khoury, Dr. Jubraeel Dahabre, Dr. Isam Bagosli, Dr. Nimer Shaheen, Dr. Alex Yagmoor, and Dr. Abbas Qadreh.
The Conference was organized as a continuation of the successful inaugural edition held in May 2024, an initiative originally inspired by Ms. Julia Tsetis, Chairman and CEO of OFET Group of Pharmaceutical Companies.
The Arab-Hellenic Chamber would like to seize this opportunity to express its sincere appreciation to the delegations, speakers, and participants representing 16 Arab countries, as well as to its valued partners and friends from Greece, whose enthusiasm and commitment contributed significantly to the success of this event.
The Chamber also extends its profound gratitude for the official auspices granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Tourism of Greece, as well as to the Kleon Tsetis Foundation, the Union of Arab Chambers, and all member companies and partners whose support and contributions helped make this Conference possible.
On this occasion, the Arab-Hellenic Chamber reaffirms its commitment to closely follow up on the outcomes of the Conference and to further facilitate communication and the realization of prospective partnerships between Greek and Arab stakeholders, with the aim of translating the discussions and connections established into tangible business and investment opportunities.
The Chamber looks forward to welcoming its members, partners, and friends to its flagship event, the 15th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum.
Until then, we wish everyone a pleasant and relaxing summer holiday.
